This is an amazing pair of wood & metal candle holders with art deco styling. I originally thought they were older but have decided that they are probably mid-century. They are very tall (12) & very heavy (7 1/2 pounds each) & feature hardwood bases with a clean angular design & yellow brass candle cups. There is good patina on the metal. SIZE: Each candle holder is about 12 tall. The bases are 7 1/2 on each side. TO ASSURE THAT YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE PURCHASING, I ENCOURAGE YOU TO USE A RULER TO SEE WHAT SIZE THE ITEM IS. CONDITION: These candleholders are in excellent condition, particularly for their age. One has a 1/2 long chip in the wood at one corner (at the bottom, where it is not visible unless you pick it up). The other has no chips but has one light area on the side where a spot of wax may have dripped. There are a few dark areas on the metal parts where I removed old candle wax with my fingernail. I'm sure that the metal could be polished to an even sheen, but I didn't want to disturb the patina, so I left them as I found them. BACKGROUND: I recently bought a large number of household & decorative items from the Seattle estate of a man who died a few months ago. He had never married & lived in the same house where he was born in 1922. The items I purchased covered a range of many decades. I'll be listing more things from this house over the next few weeks.
