These wonderful mugs are from a line of dinnerware known as Wackywhich describes them perfectly. They feature whimsical black stick figures on a white background one one side & a simple black square on the other. Made by Vista Alegre of Portugal, a porcelain factory founded in central Portugal (lhavo, part of the Aveiro district) in 1824. I've been unable to find out when these were made but my best guess would be during the 70s or 80s. This design has been discontinued & the pieces are becoming hard to find. According to Replacements.Com (where they are out of stock), the figures on these mugs are known as Wacky 1, 2, 3 & 4. The descriptive names are completely my ownyou may see something else in these childlike line drawings: Cow - Wacky #1 SOLD Woman - Wacky #2 Man - Wacky #3 SOLD Twins - Wacky #4 Condition: Very Good. A few light surface scuffs but overall in great conditionno staining, crazing, chips or repairs. It would make a nice gift or a fun cup to hold your morning coffee.
