I created Sunday Stroll by accident. Sort of. It was after school. My husband & I had just picked up our children from school. We were on our way to meet a fellow photographer at a nearby neighborhood to teach her how to photograph outside & use the available light to her advantage. A young model was meeting us there. We got there early. The model & the other photographer was nowhere to be seen. Nothing to do. So, much to my husbands angst, I had the idea to put our daughter in the dress that we brought & do a few images to test the lighting before the instruction would take place with the other photographer. We unloaded the antique buggy. While we set things up - our camera, the tripod, the buggy with the blanket & our reflectors, our daughter changed out of her school clothes & put on a white dress that was in our 90's conversion van. She wasn't super excited about the prospect either after a long day of school. Finally, she was finished changing & we posed her with the buggy on the path next to a duck pond. The light coming through the trees looked too bright. The reflection on the path seemed like it was going to be very over exposed. Because we were using film (this was way before digital), we would not know the outcome for about 2 weeks. I was able to take 5 photographs before the other model & photographer were on the scene. Lighting test was over. 5 Images. That's all I had. I had no idea what they would look like. No photoshop. No digital manipulation available. Only my photographic expertise. When we got the proofs back in 2 weeks, I was stunned. The light on the path was perfect. It looked like jewels on the pavement. Because of the white blanket in the stroller, it provided the perfect reflection for our child's face. The trees were lit with the perfect golden light. The stroller looked amazing & the winding path led right to our sweet little subject. I knew I had created an image that was special. Really special The next photography conference was coming up soon. I entered this beautiful photograph that I named Sunday Stroll. As it was judged by 6 impartial judges, the score kept rising & rising. Judges scoring was from 0 to 100. Anything 80 & above is considered excellent & will hang on display. As Sunday Stroll was judged, it was called back three times. The first score was in the 80's. Second call back was in the low 90's. The last time it was called back, it hit its final score of 97. It was the highest scoring print out of thousands of photographs. Needless to say, I was thrilled that my little test print ended up being a treasure. Sunday Stroll went on to be a loan print with Professional Photographers of America & traveled the country with the national display. I was told countless times that I should sell this image. So, I am offering this limited edition print of Sunday Stroll to you. My little test print. One of my most favorite images of all time. Beautiful signed & numbered limited edition lithograph of a child with an
