This is a very charming ironstone transferware creamer from W. R. Midwinter Ltd., featuring a rural farmhouse scene with cows & greenery, & a farmer & son in conversation. Brown is the main colour, with green, blue yellow & red touches on the foliage, buildings & clothing. The decorative floral rim & detail on the handle are really gorgeous. The top also features a white ribbon detail. in very good vintage condition, crazing throughout. One very small nick (shown) on the underside of the spout Measures: 2 5/8 tall 4 from handle to spout 1 7/8 diameter at base Holds: 3/4 cup or 5 fl. oz. Marked: Rural England W. R. Midwinter Ltd. Note: Anything including the word 'Ltd' was produced after 1932, but before the early '50s. William Robinson Midwinter founded his manufacturing business in 1910, & was one of the leading innovators in British tableware production in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent.
