An afternoon tea tray must. A silver plated pairing of a cream/milk jug & sugar bowl. The sugar bowl has twin handles, a design I haven't come across before, it resembles a sicottish quaich Both have a patterned rim which looks like a Celtic knot & ribbons. It's quite fine & even under the jewellers loupe, it's difficult to work out. The jug stands at 10cm to the handle, 8.5 cm to the rim & has a diameter of 7.5 cm at the top. The sugar bowl stands at 7 cm & from handle to handle is 13 cm wide with the diameter of the bowl at 9.5 cm. There are some dark spots to the interior of both. There are signs that this has been well polished in its long life, but the plate hasn't worn away to show base metal, just lost a little shine in places. Please see images as it is very faint. There is a makers stamp to the base of the jug that confirms it was made by Viners Ltd. The stamp to the base of the bowl is different, both show the pattern no' 942 so they do go together.
