This fabulous matte (bisque) white porcelain based lamp was made by top quality West German firm Hutschenreuther, probably in the 1960's-70's. The Op Art & naturalistic themes evident in this super piece reflect those of its designer - Manfred Frey. The base has a curvaceous form with an amazing wavy, textured relief decor that resembles sand dunes or rock strata & gives the piece a stunningly naturalistic 3D effect in light & shadow. This stunning porcelain base lamp was made by top quality West German firm Hutschenreuther, under the 'Werk Tischenreuther' banner The lamp has a super red fabric shade, which appears to be original. The lamp base is marked with the firms stamp & 'Htschenreuther, Tiscshenreuther, Germany'. The porcelain base is approx 16 cm tall & the lamp is 47 cm tall in total, including the shade (it weighs 1.45 kilos).
