Description
This unique one of a kind hand made mug is great for any warm or cold beverage. This stoneware mug measures 6 3/4 W by 4 1/2 D by 5 5/8 H . The mug is dishwasher & microwave safe. It makes a great gift for yourself or others! These mugs have been very poplar as a great gift for those that always have cold hands & love to caress their cups of Joe, Tea, or hot Co-Co. Process: The clay is fist mixed by hand using 100 lbs. of dry materials - various clay bodies, silica, feldspar, recycled clay, & water. The materials are all put in a large clay mixer & allowed to mix to the right consistency. The clay is the weighed to determine the size & they created on a potters wheel by hand. The clay is then allowed to harden slightly, trimmed & allowed to dry. Next, the pottery is bisque fired (1945 degrees F.) 8-12. The piece is allowed to cool slowly, then glazed with high fire glazes & placed in a natural gas kiln. All of my glazes are mixed from scratch using only raw ingredients. The piece will then be fired over the course of 16-18 hours to a final temperature of 2345 degrees F. Uses: All of my work is completely food safe & can be put in the dishwasher, microwave & oven.
