Aluminium shade with wood veneer: LED pendant lamp CrioThe Italian designer Gio Minelli experimented with Archimedean solids when he designed the shade for the LED pendant lamp Crio. The special thing about Archimedes' polyhedra is that their side surfaces are regular polygons. In the case of Crio, these are equilateral triangles that, when placed end to end, create the dome-like shade, which is closed on the underside by an opal diffuser made of PMMA. With over 6,000 lumens, the built-in warm white LEDs achieve a comparatively high luminous flux.
