French designer Philippe Starck, who has already designed many classic lamps for the Italian design lighting manufacturer FLOS, has once again focused on the simplicity that is inherent in so many of his designs: no unnecessary flourishes or details, pure beauty and functionality. The body of the lamp of In Vitro is made of die-cast and extruded aluminum, which has been powder coated. Furthermore, clear borosilicate glass was used. The LEDs are located behind an opal diffuser in the upper part of the luminaire, so that the light is mainly diffused downwards.
