Description
Ginkgo biloba ‘Blagon’ is perfect for creating an eye-catching screen, or an avenue of trees if planted closely together. Its slow growth habit even makes it suitable for a large container. This deciduous tree is a male form, so it will not produce any fruits. It is ideal for punctuating a landscape planting scheme as it remains neat and structured upon maturity. With a unique, columnar habit, this narrow version of the popular Maidenhair Tree is perfect for restricted spaces. ‘Blagon’ is covered from top to bottom in distinctive fan-shaped foliage that turns to stunning gold as autumn approaches. Ginkgo trees can be grown in any fertile, well-drained soil, as long as they are located in a full sun position. They are extremely resilient and show superb tolerance to polluted air, so they should grow well even if located in less than perfect surroundings. Water your Ginkgo tree regularly until it is fully established. Once they are well-established, Ginkgo trees require very little maintenance and no pruning at all. If you are growing your Ginkgo plant in a container, keep the soil moist but not waterlogged throughout the first growing season. When re-potting, use a pot no more than twice the size of the pot the plant is bought in; take care not to over pot.
