Description

Made from fine bone china, this espresso cup and saucer set is decorated with a print of Tamara de Lempicka's 'Portrait of Mrs A. Bott'. To preserve the brilliance of the colours and gilt finish, it's best to wash by hand with a mild detergent. Known as the diva of art deco painting, Tamara De Lempicka was a true icon of the wild 20s. Her art and wealthy lifestyle, unbridled lust and endless intrigue symbolised the heady days of the roaring twenties. Remarkably beautiful and a member of the Polish nobility, Tamara landed in Paris when fleeing from the Russian revolution. There she began her art studies, quickly gaining fame for her cool and sensual painting style which was soon to become a symbol of the new art deco movement.
