The mattress is well tailored, has a robust firm spring unit and sits comfortably on a contemporary and stylish divan base. Upholstered in a hard wearing Belgian damask cover, the mattress has a micro quilted finish for extra strength and durability. Micro quilting sews the outer damask cover to the top layers of upholstery, creating a quilted pattern that covers the whole sleeping surface. The foundation of the mattress is its spring unit, a robust and firm open coil spring also known as a Bonnell spring. Open coil spring units are made up of rows of hourglass shaped springs connected at the top and bottom by a spiral wire, known as a helical wire. The edge of the spring unit is strengthened by a thick, rod-edge wire that adds support to the perimeter and avoids border breakdown. Supporting the mattress is our universal Solar platform top divan base that39;s available in a wide selection of fabrics and colours. The base is presented with several storage combinations and there is even the option of having standard castors or upgrading to contemporary silver glides.
