Description
Happy Larry The pepper grinder is a design icon that is both functional and decorative. It’s a beautiful example of the way quality handcraft and whimsical design can interact to achieve perfection. The pepper grinder and Salt Penguin go well together, and these two design icons have formed an inseparable pair since the late 1950s. It makes a perfect wedding gift or birthday present for playful couples with an eye for Danish design icons. The pepper grinder is a Danish, patent-protected quality pepper mill crafted in mahogany, ash, maple and walnut. Created by the self-taught Danish designer Sven-Erik Tonn-Petersen (Tonn-P), it uses the Danish-patented Tucan pepper grinder as grinding mechanism. The pepper grinder was first produced in the late 1950s and quickly became a favourite in Danish homes. The pepper grinder brings the table to life, is amusing, decorative and a delight for kids. After some years of great popularity, the pepper grinder gradually disappeared. Still, it had already become a design icon and in later years many design aficionados eagerly sought out original pepper grinder at flea markets and antique stores. So when Happy Larry relaunched it in 2015, the pepper grinder rapidly became a neo-classic. The pepper grinder is a recognisable everyday icon that once again brings life and joy to Danish dining rooms.
