Description
An elegant climbing Hydrangea that's perfect for those cold, north facing walls that rarely see the sun. Shade loving Hydrangea petiolaris bears lacy white blooms in summer that contrast beautifully with its cloak of dark green foliage. As autumn approaches, its heart-shaped leaves turn a buttery shade of yellow that will brighten even the darkest corner. Although a little slow to get going, once established this superb RHS AGM variety will quickly scale walls and fences with its clinging ariel roots. Thrives in a sunny, semi -shaded or full shade position, with shelter from cold, drying winds. Grow in any rich fertile, moist soil. Improve the soil prior to planting by adding plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost, ensuring that it is mixed in thoroughly and deeply. Grow against walls and fences where it will cling and support itself via aerial roots. Water regularly until fully established. Should be pruned immediately after flowering, reducing the stems to restrict growth to the available space and to improve the shape of the plant. In the spring apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost around the base of the plant. Caution: Contact with foliage may irritate the skin and eyes and all parts are harmful if eaten. Position: Sun or Partial Shade, Height: Up to 10m, Spread: Up to 3m. 2 Litre Nursery Pot Features: Hydrangea Petiolaris is a deciduous climber and a large self-clinging variety that looks fantastic with its white flowers in bloom This hydrangea plant is also shade loving, making it perfect for those cold, north facing walls in the garden where other climbers may not grow Award Winning Plant: Holds an RHS Award of Garden Merit Potted garden plant Specifications: Model Number: 57999
