Description
Hedging Rose Plants are fast growing and is usually used as part of a mixed hedgerow with other hedge plant species but also makes a pretty and informal hedge on its own. Delightful dark pink flowers in Spring and Summer give way to big red rosehips that the birds love to eat. Small green summer leaves turn fiery reds and orange in the autumn adding beautiful colour to your hedge. Hedging rose is really fast growing and helps to bind a hedge together. It weaves in and out amongst the other plants adding to the thickness of the hedge. It can easily grow 80cm – 1m per year. We recommend that you trim the whole hedge in autumn after the birds have finished nesting. We recommend 5 plants per metre in a double zig-zag row for a thick hedge, but you can get away with 3-4 per metre in a staggered row if you don’t mind waiting an extra year or two to form a thick hedge. Keep them well watered – especially in the Spring and Summer in the first year of planting. If you are not sure how many plants you need or which varieties suit your garden please just contact or call us and we will be happy to offer friendly advice!.
