Description
Wild Cherry Hedging Plants are fast growing. Commonly planted as a stand-alone tree or as part of a mixed hedgerow. Beautiful snowy white flowers in Spring give way to little Wild cherries that the birds love to eat. Green Summer leaves turn fiery reds and orange in the Autumn adding beautiful colour to your hedge. Wild Cherry is very vigorous and fast growing and can easily produce 50-60cm growth each year. We recommend that you trim in Autumn as it doesn’t affect the fruits. It also leads to more growth than spring pruning! We recommend 5 plants per metre in a double zig-zag row for a thick hedge, but you can get away with 3-4 per metre in a staggered row if you don’t mind waiting an extra year or two to form a thick hedge. Keep them well watered – especially in the Spring and Summer in the first year of planting. If you are not sure how many plants you need or which varieties suit your garden please just contact or call us and we will be happy to offer friendly advice!.
