Description
Potted Aronia Melanocarpa or ‘Chokeberry’ perennial deciduous shrubs 60-90cm tall. They have lovely small white flowers in the Spring with green leaves that turn red in Autumn with Black Berries. The Berries are very astringent raw which gave this plant its common name of Chokeberry. The Berries are widely used to make Jams and in baking. They can grow up to over 2m tall but can be trimmed in the Autumn to keep smaller if preferred. You can also use them to make a lovely hedge - plant 5 per metre in a double or zig-zag row for a thick hedge! Keep them well watered – especially in the Spring and Summer in the first year of planting.
