The Brushless Motor Technology has fewer moving parts, resulting in a quiet motor that never needs maintenance. The reduced friction enables a better use of available energy from the battery pack as there is no resistance from brushes, providing up to 25% more power. Furthermore, the brushless motor technology means the carbon brush resistance is eliminated, meaning less energy is wasted, improving runtimes significantly. Additional features include: a 2-Speed variable gearbox allows for efficient drilling of various materials, providing more torque for tougher jobs, or greater speed for softer tasks, a powerful delivery of 180Nm max torque, with variable speed up to 2,000rpm. There is also a built-in LED for improved visibility, an ergonomic design with rubber-grip overmould for increased user comfort and a belt clip that can be positioned on either side of the 18V Brushless Impact Driver.
