Description
This unusual bedding plant with its bright range of fruit colours will stand out amongst the rest in your garden. With repeat flowering all through the summer, this will provide fantastic colour from June until October. Pot up Lewisia plants into pots of free-draining compost, and grow Lewisia on in frost-free conditions until large enough to plant outside. When all risk of frost has passed and plants are well grown, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Plant Lewisia plants outdoors in light, well drained, neutral to acid soil that has been enriched with well rotted manure or garden compost. Choose a position in full sun in beds, borders and containers and rock gardens. Lewisias also thrive in the crevices of retaining walls.
