Louis Poulsen AJ
Description
AJ designer floor lamp with an adjustable head The AJ floor lamp is now a design classic. It was designed by the Danish architect and designer Arne Jacobsen in 1957. As part of his overall concept for the SAS Royal (Radisson) Hotel in Copenhagen, Jacobsen developed the series of lights that is named after its creator. Some of the elements of this hotel interior have become real design icons, including the AJ floor lamp, which has a puristic look. The focus of the beholder is directed to the lampshade, which is designed as a cone at the bottom and a cylinder at the top and shapes the emitted light in a natural way. The alignment of the lampshade can be adjusted so that the light is directed in the desired direction. The lampshade is painted white on the inside so that the light is reflected perfectly and emitted efficiently. The floor lamp is conveniently controlled via the integrated foot switch. The AJ floor lamp is a product of the Danish lighting manufacturer Louis Poulsen, which has been presenting light in its most attractive form since its foundation in 1874. Louis Poulsen is a pioneer of Scandinavian design and offers lights with the principle of "form follows function".
