AJ wall light - timeless fusion of a cone and cylinder shape The AJ wall light impresses not only with its timeless beauty, but also and especially with its sophisticated functionality. Designed in 1957 by the Danish architect Arne Jacobsen as part of the overall design of the SAS Royal Hotel (Radisson) in Copenhagen, the wall light still has a modern appearance and – like other elements of the hotel – is now considered a design icon. AJ comes with a round wall mount with an on/off switch and a slim, vertical arm. This arm bears the lampshade that is designed as a cone at the bottom and a cylinder at the top. The lampshade can be aligned so that you can direct the light to the desired area. For example, the wall light is perfect for use over the headboard in a bedroom or the sofa in a reading area. The AJ wall light follows the Danish lighting manufacturer Louis Poulsen’s concept of combining a simple yet stylish appearance with a pleasant and useful lighting effect.
