Louis Poulsen Cirque hanging lamp
Description
Colourful Cirque hanging light – a fantastical designer light Cirque – of circus in English – is the name chosen by designer Clara von Zweigbergk for her series of lights, which she created in conjunction with the traditional company Louis Poulsen (founded in 1874). And, when you look at the colourful light with its striking shape, you are certainly reminded of a circus, or at least a colourful circus tent, of a spinning carousel on the grounds and of colourful balloons. The designer found inspiration for the special colour gradation from the way that circular movement is perceived, whereby colours are often seen as continuous lines. The Cirque designer hanging light cannot be easily attributed to any specific style; in addition to its cheerful colours, it emits glare-free downward lighting to provide atmospheric ambient illumination. For optimal light reflection, the inside of the Cirque lampshade has been painted white. The designer Clara von Zweigbergk is from Sweden. She studied Graphic Design and Illustration and has worked in both Stockholm and internationally (Los Angeles, Milan). Nowadays, she is the owner of a graphic design studio and has already been awarded numerous prizes, including the Swedish Design Award in 2012.
