The bootie brings high levels of comfort while the outer shell creates a stiff, lightweight construction. Large holes in the shell not only contribute to the low weight, they also massively increase airflow, for cool, comfortable pedalling throughout. The Energy Shell Carbon outsole creates a very low stack height of just 4.5mm The tongue is padded and breathable, and the bottom of the bootie is grippy so it doesn't slip within the shell. It's possible to replace the bootie with a winter model for colder weather racing. An indoor sole is then added and dials in the fit perfectly, allowing this shoe to come in fewer sizes, just six. Some of the stiffest cycling shoes on the market, the rider gets an outstanding feel of acceleration and speed, and the low cut ankle and flexible tongue make the pedalling feel completely unrestricted and, as Mavic claim, 'rounder'.
