The curved shade of the pendant lamp is made of precious Scavo smoked glass, a specially refined glass from a glassworks in Florence. This special and particular glass makes each lamp unique. A drop of brown glass is added to the basic glass of the lamp, which is irregularly distributed in the glass by the centrifugal technique and gives the finished glass shade its typical characteristics. Scavoglass refers to a glass to which a special recipe is applied, with which it is re-fired again. Typical for this processing is an irregular, closed surface and also the unique shape of the glass, which may no longer be completely round due to the repeated heating, which is not a defect, but a special feature of this special glass. The suspension of the lamp is made of iron in the shade burnished brass and completes the slightly antique, rustic look of this lamp.
