Description
Montblanc Watch Star Legacy Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph 119964. Famous French watchmaker Nicolas Rieussec patented the first inking chronograph in 1821. In honour of this very design, Montblanc have launched the Star Legacy Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph watch, a timepiece characterised by the rotating, horizontally aligned discs on the watch’s dial. Unique in its layout and immaculate in its construction, the dial features anthracite-coloured guilloche as the backdrop to three separate subsidiary dials. At the bottom, two rose gold chronograph counters sit parallel to each other, one for the chronograph’s 60-second counter and the other for the 30-minute counter. Both turn below a fixed double index just like on the original device created by Nicolas Rieussec. The third is an off-centred hours and minutes dial purposely domed for a breathtaking three-dimensional effect. Powering the Montblanc Star Legacy Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph is no other than one of the luxury watch brand’s own manufacture movements. Calibre MB R200 is automatic winding, boasts a column wheel mechanism and allows you to set the chronograph complication using the single onion-shaped crown. Through the sapphire crystal case back, you can admire all the traditional decorations of a Swiss movement including Cotes de Geneve decorates bridges and circular grained plates. The oscillating rotor is also combined with two barrels for an impressive energy reserve of 72 hours. For the rest of the design, the Montblanc Star Legacy Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph watch opts for 18 carat rose gold on the 44.8mm case, domed sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective treatment, a 30 metre water resistant rating and a luxurious black Sfumato alligator leather strap which has been handcrafted from the Maison’s leather workshop in Florence, Italy.
