Morgenland Nomadic Area Rug
Description
Shiraz rugs are made from wool from the Fars region. They are hand-knotted by Ghaschghai nomads and have a knot density of between 90,000 and 250,000 knots per square meter. These rugs are an impressive testimony to the long tradition of carpet knotting, which is native to the city of Shiraz. They are sold in the city's bazaars or under the name Ghashgai. The city of Shiraz is known far beyond the borders of Iran for its culture and atmosphere
