Description
Bukhara rugs were originally knotted in the city of Bukhara in Uzbekistan. Today they are also made in Afghanistan. The colours and patterns are based on traditional motifs from Turkmenistan. The typical features of these rugs are the Yomut motifs. They are famous for their beautiful red hue. The wool is soft and therefore very hard -wearing, making the rug easy to clean and durable. The wool often looks slightly shiny. Its quality is impressive
