This fit for purpose workhorse takes inspiration from classic Land Rover aluminium componentry, bringing it up to date with design elements carried over from the new Land Rover Defender. Hexagonal frames neatly highlights the date window and logo mark whilst “squirkle” shaped hour batons provide perfect clarity in all lighting conditions. As a nod to the launch of the very first Land Rover in 1948, look closely at the inner minutes track and you’ll spot orange indices at the number 19 and 48 positions. It’s one of those ‘if you know, you know’ details we love to hide in plain sight. Like every watch we put our names to, this Holton boasts some naturally impressive DNA. A shock protection system for the Swiss quartz movement, triple sealed screw down crown kept neatly out of harms way at 4h, 316L stainless throughout, 2mm anti scratch, anti glare sapphire glass, Super Luminova 8 hour luminous markings and solid easy change strap bars typify how every detail is the subject of an engineering obsession shared by the founders. The detailing continues on the compressor caseback with a deeply engraved Land Rover oval logo superimposed over contour lines traced from Tyneham Cap, on Dorset’s Jurassic Coast.
