The Nike Air Presto “Hike Nike” is a fun colorway of the retro performance running shoe that pays tribute to the “Hike Nike Man” character. The “Hike Nike” Air Presto was released in 2022, and is yet another instance of the Nike ACG’s influence on modern sneaker culture as the toothy, smiling character originally used for Nike marketing in the 1970s plays into Nike’s All Condition Gear’s outdoors ethos. The shoe’s sock-like neoprene build features a blue-and-black polka dot pattern on the top of the shoe that contrasts with the semi-translucent RPU “cage” that assists in supporting the lacing system. The polka dot detailing is a nod to the Hike Nike Man’s shorts. The semi-translucent molded heel counter is designed in green and is laid over the white neoprene bootie-like design of the heel and collar. A graphic of the Hike Nike Man is printed on the insole to complete the look.
