In this case, Nike’s trash becomes the Space Hippie 01, as part of the brand’s journey towards both zero waste and zero carbon. The whole shoe is made from at least 50 percent recycled materials by weight, and the sock-like Space Waste Yarn upper accounts for a lot of that. It’s woven from around 90 percent recycled polyester, repurposing everything from tees to plastic bottles in the process.
