The Nike Zoom GP “Sonics” is former NBA superstar Gary Payton’s signature performance basketball shoe, originally released during the late-'90s. The much anticipated re-release of the Zoom GP marks the first time “The Glove’s” signature low-top has been released since 1999. The easy-pairing black and white colorway is a nod to Payton’s time with the Seattle SuperSonics and features an of-the-time asymmetrical lace cover with an embroidered Swoosh done up in Sonics team uniform colors. A clip lockdown system provides support for quick lateral movements while additional Zoom branding in throwback Sonics colors appears on the heel pull tab. Zoom Air cushioning in the midsole gives Payton’s classic design a responsive ride for hoopers. The Nike Zoom GP “Sonics” was released on July 12, 2019.
