1949 saw Japanese entrepreneur Kihachiro Onitsuka introduce Onitsuka Tiger to the world with the intention of revitalising the nation's youth with help of physical activity. Rising in reputation in the States thanks to the rise in jogging in the '60s, one of the brand's most popular silhouettes landed in '69, the Corsair. The retro runner boasts soft leather across the top, while the EVA midsole features a thicker heel for greater shock absorption and added protection.
