The 'slinky' name was formed from the words 'steel' and 'graceful'. It was first founded by a naval engineer by the name of Richard James. James created springs to support and stabilise ships in rough seas. He accidentally knocked one of the springs from a shelf and watched it walk down books and shelves. The inspiration was then found to create a fun toy for everyone! A family classic since 1945, it's the original Slinky! Juggle it from hand to hand and watch it walk down slopes or stairs. Slinky stretches, snaps back, and makes the famous slinkity sound. Fun for children, therapeutic for adults! Slinky, everyone's favourite walking spring toy! Suitable for ages five and above.
