Green Table Lamp By Siemens & Schuckert Circa 1930s Product code #OA2363 - Worldwide shipping - All prices inc VAT - All prices inc UK shipping - Green glass shade - Nickel plated brass adjustable arm - Cast iron base - Original On/Off Bakelite switch on the base - Bakelite under baseplate branded Siemens - Takes E27 fitting bulbs - Produced by Siemens & Schuckert Berlin - German ~ 1930s - 17cm wide x 37cm deep x 47cm tall Siemens Siemens & Halske was founded by Werner Von Siemens & Johann Georg Halske on 12 October 1847. Siemens & Halske (S & H) was incorporated in 1897, & then merged parts of its activities with Schuckert & Co., Nuremberg in 1903 to become Siemens Schuckert . in 1907, Siemens ( Siemens & Halske & Siemens Schuckert ) had 34,324 employees & was the seventh-largest company in the German empire by number of employees. During the 1920s & 1930s, Siemens started to manufacture Lighting products radios, television sets, & electron microscopes., which continued into the 1940s. During the final years of WW2, numerous Siemens plants & factories in Berlin & other major cities were destroyed by Allied air raids. To prevent further losses, manufacturing was therefore moved to alternative places & regions not affected by the air war. The goal was to secure continued production of important war-related & everyday goods. According to records, Siemens was operating almost 400 alternative or relocated manufacturing plants at the end of 1944 & in early 1945.
