The hourglass shape guides eggs gently into simmering water, keeps them contained while cooking and produces a consistent shape when cooked. The high heat-resistant silicone is perforated allowing the hot water to circulate around the egg for a perfect poach. There is a lifting tab for removing the poacher safely from the water.
