Geranium Giant Salmon Princess are half hardy perennials. These plants have a sturdy flower stem topped with a delicate candy pink weather resistant bloom. With there giant heads these geraniums stand out from there rich green foliage making them the ideal plant for filling in gaps or planting in patio pots. Height: 60cm (24”). Spread:50cm (20”). Although technically perennial, Pelargoniums are only half hardy and therefore normally treated as annuals in the UK. However, with care, they may be overwintered in a frost free greenhouse. Pot up pelargonium plants and grow them on in warm frost-free conditions. When all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise geraniums to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days before transplanting them into their final positions in containers, beds and borders. Plant geraniums in a sunny or semi-shaded position, in any light, non-acidic, well-drained soil. Pinch out the growing tip of each stem to encourage branching and form a bushier plant which will produce more flowers later on. Feed and water geranium plants regularly, particularly during hot, dry periods. Regular deadheading of geranium flowers will encourage further blooms to be produced throughout the summer.
