Peony Duchesse de Nemours 3 Bare Roots
Description
Paeonia Lactiflora Duchesse de Nemoours is a stunning peony that produces fully ruffled white double blooms that open from large, rounded buds. This variety has a tall habit so it is best to plant it towards the back of perennial borders where its blooms will rise above a clump of deeply divided dark green foliage. This Peony makes an elegant bouquet or cut flower display. Height and Spread: 80cm (31). Culinary Note: The petals can be added to salads or cooked slightly and sweetened for a treat. Peony water was also once considered a delicacy and the blooms can be floated in punches. Bare roots should be planted at the earliest opportunity following delivery. Grow peonies in a sunny or semi shaded position on fertile, moist, well-drained soil. Peony plants prefer a heavy soil that is rich in organic matter. Improve the soil prior to planting by adding plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost prior to planting. Plant herbaceous peonies so that the top of the crown is just 5cm (2) below the soil surface, taking care not to plant too deeply as this may prevent or delay peonies from flowering.
