Description
The MASTER LEDspot range of LED MR16 spotlight light bulbs from Philips is designed to provide a viable and cost-effective alternative to the outgoing halogen spotlights that have been phased out by the European Union.LED light bulbs are more efficient, more reliable and longer lasting than those they are designed to replace, yielding a raft of savings throughout their lifetime, from instantaneous energy savings to reduced maintenance costs further down the line. This pack of 10x low voltage MR16 pictured here uses just 5.5W but delivers the same light quality and brightness as a traditional 35W light bulb. Additionally, the 2,000 hour rated lifetime of comparable halogen spotlights pales into insignificance when compared to the 25,000 hours of this LED version. LED technology is inherently more efficient than halogen light bulbs and ultimately gives off less heat, UV and IR, meaning that LED spotlights are much better suited to heat-sensitive applications related to food, organic materials and paintings. This particular version retrofits directly to existing MR16 fixtures and diffuses its light within a 36 beam angle. This spotlight lamp is fitted with a low voltage 12V GU5.3 2-pin (5.33mm apart) base. This MR16 Spotlight is a newer product from Philips and supersedes their old MR16 Spotlight part codes: 8718696708231.Please note that this light bulb will operate with most AC and DC 12V transformers. However, some 12V transformers may have a minimum required load which may not be met when installing low powered LEDs: these drivers may cause flickering or the LEDs not to function correctly. If this issue arises it may be necessary to source a suitable LED driver.
