Description
Voted the "Best Overall Winter Duvet 2023" by the experts at The Independent. This lighter weight duvet is filled with wool from Merino sheep and it's encased in a 100% organic cotton cover. Made and filled by hand, these materials have been selected to help regulate your temperature for a restful night's sleep. They're also naturally hypoallergenic. This duvet is filled with 200g per square metre of carded Merino wool Merino wool duvets don't have a tog rating. Instead, they steadily maintain body temperature all year round, no matter the weather Wool is plush and insulating while cotton is naturally breathable and moisture-wicking, so both materials help to keep air circulated The wool is sourced from free-range and non-farmed Merino sheep flocks It's also designed with handy corner loops so the duvet can attach to the inside of Piglet in Bed's linen duvet covers to prevent slipping How to care for this duvet We don't recommend machine washing your merino wool bedding. The best way to keep it clean, fresh, bacteria and toxin-free and to ensure it lasts, it to air it on a washing line in the sunshine at least four times a year, ideally at the start of each season. The warmth of the sun will wick away any moisture trapped within the wool and help to sterilise both the wool and cotton. Regularly airing this product will also encourage the fibres of the wool to naturally expand back out, so your duvet will feel revitalised and bounce back to life. At first, you may notice the smell of lanolin on your Merino wool bedding. This is a natural oil secreted by sheep that helps soften, protect and waterproof the wool fibres. This wool bedding is not over-processed, so some lanolin remains on the wool. The scent will fade over time but if you have a sensitive smell, we recommend airing your bedding before use.
