Description
Pinarello Grevil F Ekar Disc Gravel Bike Redesigned to be even faster, Pinarello’s Grevil F Ekar Disc Gravel Bike offers fantastic speed and control on the trails. Intended as an out-and-out racer, the T700 carbon frame uses a similar aerodynamic downtube to the Dogma road bike, with a concave shape that shields the bottle cages from the wind whilst the fork has the ForkFlap to help smooth airflow around the brake caliper area. The frame’s asymmetric design offsets the forces from the driveside of the bike, providing more efficient power transfer and, along with the short chainstays and beefy bottom bracket area, makes sure that no watts are lost on the way to the ground. The seatpost bolt has been moved in front of the seatpost to keep it away from any dirt flicked up by the wheels and there is a mount for a front derailleur if one is required in the future. TiCR technology keeps all the cables inside the handlebar, stem and frame so that they don’t get contaminated, and to reduce drag. This design also makes fitting luggage such as a bar bag easier as it won’t foul the cables. Huge clearances mean that the Grevil F can be used with tyres up to 50mm wide on 700c rims and 2.1” tyres on 650b wheels, to cater for use on extremely challenging terrain. With 25mm road tyres fitted, the frame’s racing heritage can be exploited on the tarmac too. Both the Maxxis Rambler tyres and the Fulcrum Rapid Red 500 wheels are tubeless-ready to offer better grip and comfort along with more puncture resistance. Keeping with the Italian theme, Campagnolo’s gravel-specific Ekar groupset takes care of shifting and braking. The 13-speed cassette allows a very wide range of ratios without needing cadence-disrupting jumps for greater efficiency and the drivetrain has been designed to ensure that the chain stays put over rough ground, with a clutch mechanism in the derailleur. Ekar Ergopower hydraulic disc brakes ensure that the speed remains controllable, with great modulation and feel, particularly when riding on the hoods.
