Description
The summer raspberry Rubus idaeus Malling Promise produces deliciously soft raspberries. The plant blooms with pretty white flowers in May and June, and the raspberries are ripe for picking in July. The Malling Promise is a self-pollinating plant, so you don't need another plant for fruiting. The large raspberries are full of vitamin C and fibre and are low in calories. They can be stored in the fridge for up to three days, but are tastiest just after picking.CareMalling Promise likes a position in full sun or semi shade and prefers acidic to neutral, well-drained, humus-rich soil. Make sure the plant remains sufficiently moist, especially when the plant is in a pot, check regularly that the soil is sufficiently moist. Pruning is very important to encourage new growth. Prune the plants back to the ground every autumn/winter period. The plant will return in spring.SizeOn delivery, the plants have a height of 50-60cm, measured including the nursery pot. The plants are delivered in a 15cm diameter nursery pot.
