Description
The Yucca Elephantipes is a sturdy indoor palm which has its origins in Central America. Here, this palm species is frequently cultivated in large nurseries deep in the rain forests. The Yucca gets its name from its heavy root-stock, reminiscent of elephant feet. The leaf of the Yucca Elephantipes is thick and fleshy with a sharp, finely serrated edge. The lower leaves of Yucca will naturally die back as the plant grows. These should be carefully removed, to maintain a tidy appearance.CareThe Yucca is one of the easiest houseplants around because the plant does not require much water. Watering once every two weeks is more than enough. It is very important that no water remains at the bottom of the pot, otherwise the roots will rot. The Yucca prefers a light position, but make sure it is not in direct sunlight. Direct sunlight causes discoloration of the leaves. Once every 2-3 months, the Yucca needs sufficient nutrition to ensure that the leaves remain beautifully green. Please note that the plant is toxic to humans and animals!SizeThe plants have a height of 50-60cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plants are supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 14cm.
