Pyrenees Bear
Description
It’s in the Pyrenees that you can meet the population of brown bears from North America. Their impressive size ranks them among the most imposing mammals of their species after the polar bear. The bear of the Pyrenees can measure up to 2 meters and weighs between 120 and 200 kilos. It is one of the most powerful land animals on the planet! This omnivore feeds mainly on plants, berries and fruits. However, it sometimes devours insects (ants, bees...) or small mammals. In order to last all winter, the bear of the Pyrenees feeds intensively all summer long, then joins its den and hibernates from November to March. Its life expectancy is between 20 and 25 years.
