Despite being lightweight the Avan will protect your baby thanks to the innovative features on the seat as well as the fact it has passed the stricter R129 i-Size test you know they ll be in safe hands .When you first use the Avan car seat, you will need to use the included newborn inlay. The provides your precious bundle of joy with a flat and ergonomic position to lie in those early days. As they grow this can simply be removed and this leaves the standard seat. This has special foam which adapts to your little one s body shape giving them amazing levels of comfort.To help keep your little one safe and sound in the event of a crash the Avan has the Recaro patented HERO safety system. This clever system incorporates the 3-point harness; it means that when you move the headrest to the correct height for your child, the shoulder straps and the shoulder pads move with it. This not only ensures the straps are in the correct place and do not have any twists in them, it means there is no confusing and time-consuming unthreading and rethreading of straps.The buckles on the harness are coated, so if the weather is hot, they don t heat up as much as standard buckles, therefore protecting their delicate and sensitive skin. The harness buckle is smart too this intelligent feature means when your baby is removed from the seat, the harness buckle tilts forward and stays in this position, so it is ready for the next journey - ask any parent, digging around under your little one for a buckle is not fun!The seat also has a built-in air ventilation system; the openings on the outer shell and mesh inserts in the seat cover mean there is continuous air circulation which helps to keep your little one comfier on your journey, whether it s a quick trip to the grandparents or a long journey on holiday! There is also an extra-large sun canopy which offers UPF50 protection.The Avan car seat can be installed in your car using either the 3-point belt in the back seat of your car or you can use the modular i-Size base (sold separately). This base not only makes it easier to install the seat each time, simply click it into place, but it also fits the Recaro Kio Car Seat so there is one less thing to buy. (Kio car seat sold separately). This makes the base suitable for use with 2 car seats, from birth to around 4 years old.The Avan can also be used as part of a travel system. With the correct adaptors, you can attach the Avan to the Easylife or Citylife pushchairs (sold separately).
