This cute little critter has a spike on the bottom making it an ideal decoration for any garden plant pot, hanging basket, planter, flower pot, window box, vegetable patch or patio pot. Each plant pot ornament also has a hole in the spike which can be used to fix the ornament to a wooden bird table, trellis, screen, fence, pergola or arbor. Supplied in 'ready to rust' raw mild steel the plant pot ornament will rust over time so you can experience the enjoyment of watching as it naturally turns rusty. To speed up the rusting process an occasional spray of salty water over the first few days or so will help create the rust effect. Alternatively you could colour your plant pot ornament with metal paint to create your own unique piece of artwork. We would advise using an acid etch primer base coat before applying your colour to help inhibit rust formation. As your ornament will be sent in raw steel it will appear shiny, if you put your ornament indoors it will rust very slowly. For the rusted patina look we recommend that you make them rusty outside & then coat the rusty ornament with a clear lacquer or varnish to minimise risk of rust transfer. Please take care as rust can stain if contact is made between surfaces, skin or furnishings.
