In addition, the tubes of the Fenix SLA Disc are triple-butted. Each tube has a thin center wall, which thickens towards the end. This makes the frame lighter and stiffer. Finally, you can also customize this bike's colors, which is unique in the world of cycling - especially for an entry-level all-round road bike. Ridley's aluminum bikes undergo a meticulous high-tech process using 6061-T6 aluminum alloy for its excellent stiffness, fatigue resistance, lightness, and welding precision. The triple-butted tubes, three times thinner in the middle, minimize weight and maximize stiffness. Hydroforming shapes the tubes with pressurized water to avoid damage. They also employ double-pass flat welding in crucial areas for extra strength and a clean finish.
