This is the Comp model if this tyre and it’s an ideal choice for aggressive and fast riding cross country and all-mountain riders. The tread’s lugs are shorter and spaced further apart to aid mud clearing and to keep you rolling quickly. It also adopts Ritchey’s VFA (Vector Force Analysis) which ensures the bulk of the tread is placed in the ideal points for optimum cornering grip. Technologies: VFA Design: When creating tread profiles for the first Ritchey tyres, Tom Ritchey looked at the way tyres wore down to identify where they need tread the most. The result of this observation is Vector Force Analysis, an approach that had been used in car tyre design but never before with bicycles. From VFA, Tom designed some of the more iconic Ritchey tyres, including the Olympic- and world championship-proven SpeedMax and Z-Max treads.
