Likely made in 1950s England & possibly a one-off, this has all the charisma of practical post-war Britain & is ideal for Mid Century lovers looking for an authentic, stylish, versatile & very charming piece. It features a gorgeous Rosewood veneer top with eye-catching striated multi-toned grain above a lovely teak frame with a curved pelmet & cubed tapering legs on metal feet - a nod to the Scandinavian influences that were beginning to pop up in British design in the 1950s. The real standout features are the pull-out reflective black melamine drinks drawer & matching removable butler's tray with raised teak bordering, which make this a very special & unusual piece indeed. Quite possibly a lovingly crafted one-off piece rather than one of a factory produced run of tables, this is a very lovely, rare & eye-catching piece that offers versatility, practicality & bundles of authentic early Mid Century charm. A real conversation piece - we haven't seen another like it - & your guests will love it! CONDITION Structurally sound, this is in very good condition, especially for its age! There are a few light marks as you'd expect but nothing that detracts from this wonderful piece. The rosewood veneer looks quite thin so probably shouldn't be sanded too much & the Butlers tray is slightly warped so doesn't sit completely flush but it's hardly noticeable, & apart from that it's in great nick & should last for another seven decades if well looked after - please see the photos.
