Rondo Ruut X Disc Gravel Bike 2022 Whether racing flat out for an hour around a cyclocross course or heading out for a multi-day adventure, the Rondo Ruut X Disc Gravel Bike will prove a very worthy accomplice. With a flex design EPS carbon frame and TWINTIP carbon fork, the Ruut X has comfort and compliance in spades, yet can also transfer power very effectively to the wheels for speed and efficiency. The fork benefits from Rondo’s variable geometry design which means the axle position can be altered to provide faster handling or more stability and the frame has bottle cage and luggage mounts aplenty, allowing the bike to be loaded up or stripped back as required. Gravel specific, Shimano’s GRX groupset has been designed for off-road use with excellent chain retention and ruggedness. The supplied 11-36 cassette and 42t chainring are ideal for fast rides and races, although they can be switched out for a wider range set-up if tackling more demanding terrain. The hydraulic disc brakes from Shimano are also gravel biased for better control and power on the trails whilst the wheelset makes good use of Hunt’s impressive tubeless-ready Hunt Aero Wide aluminium rims. UCI compliant for cyclocross use, Schwalbe’s X-One 700c x 33 tyres are fast and efficient, but again there is scope for adding further off-road capability with clearance for 700c x 45 / 27.5 x 2.2” rubber.
