Choose a dry day, above 10°C, when it’s not likely to rain. How to prepare bare metalRemove loose rust or paint with a wire brush or 120 grit sandpaper.Wipe down with a damp cloth and remove all dirt. How to prepare previously painted metalIf the paint is in good condition and isn’t flaking, lightly sand it with 240 grit sandpaper. For paint that’s flaking, it needs removing. You can do this with some sandpaper or a wire brush.Wipe with a damp cloth and let it dry.Be careful preparing any surfaces that were painted before 1960, as they may be coated with lead paint.ApplicationGive the paint a really good stir for 2 to 3 minutes and apply with a paintbrush or roller.Or, you can spray this paint. Simply dilute it with about 10% water or to the specifications of the sprayer you’re using.Leave for 2 to 4 hours between each coat.2 coats should give you enough coverage, but we recommend 3 for rusty metal and ultimate durability. After your lost coat, it will be touch dry in only 30 minutes.AftercareCleaningTake as much paint off your brush or roller as you can.
